This mining group was formed as a part of the efforts to harness the rich mineral resources available in the mineral rich belt of Jharkhand & Orissa.

The presence of various steel plants in the vicinity of the mining wealth had created the need for a company, which could enable industries to get a constant flow of raw materials for the various steel industries.
